As a millennial or Gen Z living in this problematic world, have you counted the times people minded your business? The times where your ‘friend’ told you to stop wearing clothes you loved wearing because for her its ‘baduy’? Your ‘bro’ telling you stop articulating your words because it makes you sound ‘gay’ (also it’s already 2020 and why do we still consider our friends from the LGBTQ+ community a form of insult to someone?)? Or even your tita and tito making fun of your own beliefs?

#WF E02: hush, hijo

Do you remember the time your parents tell you to not wear that short dress you always love to wear in public? Do you remember the times you shake your head in disapproval after hearing the “manly” comments your friends, or (worse) your uncles, say once they spot a woman pass by?

We are already living in a world where we are slowly embracing our own differences and uniqueness, however why can’t we have that same understanding and mindset regarding women objectification? Why do most of us still sexually degrade them and act as if this treatment should be normalized?

Especially to men, is this how we consider ourselves masculine? That in order to call yourself a ‘man’, you need to know how to cat-call or ‘compliment’ an innocent woman? Violate her privacy? Is that it?
